Introduction
We, Nepal Engineering
Professionals' Association (NEPA) are an independent nonprofit
organization of Nepalese engineering professionals. It was established in BS
2065 under the trade union Act of Nepal government. Today, it represents more
than 5000 engineering professionals of different faculties in all 75 districts
of Nepal. Being aware of solidarity, coordination and
cooperation among active trade unions all over the nation and taking into
consideration the need of establishment of NEPA of the basis of purely
professional nature, We are organizing a one day National Seminar on
20th August 2015 on " समृद्द र समुन्नत नेपालको चाहना : विपदपछिको दिगो पुन:निर्माणको परिकल्पना (Prosperous and Developed Nepal:
Post-disaster Dream for Sustainable Reconstruction ) " on the 8th
Anniversary of the establishment of Nepal Engineering Professional Association
(NEPA) which will be participated by experts, professionals, development
practitioners and researchers. The main objectives of
the seminar are:
- The participants will be familiarized
with the emerging challenges of sustainable reconstruction of post
disaster Nepal
- The participants will have
opportunities of knowing each other and sharing their knowledge and
understanding about the seminar theme
The themes
of the seminar are broadly divided into four categories, namely a) Technology
and infrastructure development; b) Geology and geo-techniques; c) Social and
political transition; and d) Economy,
investment and finance;

1. Deadline for Abstract Submission: By July 31, 2015 AD (Shrawan 15, 2072 BS)
2. Acceptance of Abstract: By August 5, 2015 AD (Shrawan 20, 2072 BS)
3. Submission of the Full Papers: By August 15, 2015 AD (Shrawan 30, 2072 BS),
On behalf of the Nepal Engineering Professionals’
Association (NEPA) the seminar organizing committee chaired by Dr. Madhav
Koirala, President of NEPA is announcing a call for papers relating to “Prosperous and Developed Nepal:
Post-disaster Dream for Sustainable Reconstruction” for a national seminar to be organized on Bhadra 3, 2072 BS (August 20, 2015 AD) on the auspicious occasion
of the 8th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal Engineering
Professionals’ Association. The Organizing Committee welcomes high quality papers
meeting the international scientific quality standards on any topics related to
the seminar title. Suggested themes may include:
· Infrastructure planning
· Sustainable
reconstruction and resettlement
· Economic, social and
political empowerment
· Inclusive and
sustainable growth and development
· Disaster preparedness
· Investment and finance
The papers of the seminar will
be grouped into the following 4 categories
· Technology and
Infrastructure Development
· Geology and
Geo-techniques
· Social and Political
Transition
· Economy, Investment and
Finance
Selected
authors of the accepted papers may be invited to present their work at one of
the technical sessions of the Seminar. In addition, the papers will be
published in the Journal of NEPA. Both NEPA members and non-members are invited
to submit the papers.
