On behalf of the Nepal Engineering Professionals’ Association (NEPA) the seminar organizing committee chaired by Dr. Madhav Koirala, President of NEPA is announcing a call for papers relating to “Prosperous and Developed Nepal: Post-disaster Dream for Sustainable Reconstruction” for a national seminar to be organized on Bhadra 3, 2072 BS (August 20, 2015 AD) on the auspicious occasion of the 8th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal Engineering Professionals’ Association. The Organizing Committee welcomes high quality papers meeting the international scientific quality standards on any topics related to the seminar title. Suggested themes may include:
· Infrastructure planning
· Sustainable reconstruction and resettlement
· Economic, social and political empowerment
· Inclusive and sustainable growth and development
· Disaster preparedness
· Investment and finance
The papers of the seminar will be grouped into the following 4 categories
· Technology and Infrastructure Development
· Geology and Geo-techniques
· Social and Political Transition
· Economy, Investment and Finance
Selected authors of the accepted papers may be invited to present their work at one of the technical sessions of the Seminar. In addition, the papers will be published in the Journal of NEPA. Both NEPA members and non-members are invited to submit the papers.
1. Deadline for Abstract Submission:
By July 31, 2015 AD (Shrawan 15, 2072 BS), interested authors can submit an abstract of 50-100 words consisting of:
· Title
· Author/s
· Affiliation of author/s
· Corresponding email/s, address/es, telephone/s
2. Acceptance of Abstract:
By August 5, 2015 AD (Shrawan 20, 2072 BS), the Organizing Committee will make a decision on the received abstracts. The number of accepted abstracts might be limited. All authors will have been notified as to the results of the selection of their abstracts. The Organizing Committee will determine which papers are to be presented in the seminar and which are to be published in the journal. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to not publish a submission.
3. Submission of the Full Papers:
By August 15, 2015 AD (Shrawan 30, 2072 BS), the selected authors should submit the full papers and/or power-point presentations as per the notifications provided by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee will determine which papers are to be presented in the seminar and which are to be published in the journal. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to not publish a submission.
4. Presenting the PaperSelected authors will be invited to present their papers in the seminar scheduled for Bhadra 3, 2072 BS (August 20, 2015 AD). Each invited author should make every effort to attend the seminar and present his/her paper. These authors will be contacted in advance of the meeting.
5. The criteria for evaluation will reflect:
· Originality of ideas;
· Relevancy to the seminar title and proposed themes
· Clarity of presentation
· Contribution to reinsurance literature
· Thorough treatment of the ideas
